NIKE DUNK 'SIEMPRE FRESCO' (28/40)

I know what you're thinking, " I thought this dude was all about NB?". So let me go into a little background of my sneaker collecting hobby. As mentioned in my bio, I started off with Nike SB/Dunks. In those days, the Orchard St. Nike Dunk was my 'holy grail' so to speak. The cut-out in the rear paneling sold me instantly, not to mention the awesome story behind them.

For those that do not know, the Orchard Street dunks may have had the best marketing campaign to date! From researching this release, the Orchard Street in NYC had 40 pairs of euro release dunks called, 'Brazils' that were vibrant yellow/green. They were then customized to what you see here, so yes only 40 pairs total, and 12 of those 40 were handed out to Friends & Family + celebs. Some of the remainders were tossed around the city of Manhattan on hard to reach places (light poles, stop lights, telephone wires etc.), and was rumored to be free if you had the guts to grab them. Posters were hung around the areas of the shoes that were of an old western style showing, 'WANTED' with the name of the shoe under it.

Fast forward to 2016...My friend persuaded me to attend SneakerCon San Francisco. I reluctantly went with him, while also making the comment, "Why should I go? They won't have anything I want." We were making our last round around the vender booths, and there they were...staring me in the face; Orchard Street Dunks. I went up to the vendor and said, "Please don't tell me these are 11." He replied, "hahah. Ok I won't...They're 11." I took his name and number, and at a later date met up with him to make the purchase. Come to find out, he is the owner of the consignment shop Redwood SF in San Francisco, and a solid dude I might add.

I vow that these will be the only Nike's in my collection unless I find the other pair Orchard Street's released prior to these.
