NEW BALANCE 990BPN

Collecting shoes leads you in directions of all sorts in hopes of finding that one pair, that one pair there’s just something about that you need to have. The 990BPN was that one pair I needed to have because of the earthy tones combined with subtle pop of magenta. Say hello to early 00’s greatness!

Some photographers edit backdrops to flow with the colors of whatever shoe they are displaying, but personally…I think that’s cheating haha. Throughout my work week when I’m moving locations; I scan my surroundings and try and pair them with the next shoe I intend on shooting. This location I’ve had my eyes on for months, just waiting for that right time of year when the flowers are still in bloom, but grasses start to die off.

It goes without saying that the early 00’s was the pinnacle for NB, and that includes GR’s and collaboration projects in both the UK and USA. This is a UK made 990, which you don’t hear about these days. As far as quality comparison goes between these and a MiUSA pair…there really isn’t any. It doesn't matter what’s embroidered on the tongue when it comes to this 990. These are perfect.

Despite their age; these have been kept in great condition. No sole separation and the mesh is still strongly intact, which could be the make or break on these older pairs.

After posting this pair; the world famous sneaker magazine, ‘Sneaker Freaker’ published their ‘All-Time Greatest 990’s: Part 2’ and to my surprise…this photo was featured along with my photo of the 990BON .
