NEW BALANCE x CONCEPTS 999CP1: HYANNIS (BLUE)

When speaking on collabs it’d be a sin not to mention Concepts and that goes across all brands. This 999 in the ‘Kennedy’ colorway was Concepts first ever collaborative project with NB back in 2011 and was brought back in 2017.

According to sources; the Kennedy’s nautical theme stemmed from the sailing culture of New England, and John F. Kennedy’s love for sailing. The original design was done by Concepts employee Frank The Butcher.

So what’s so special about the remake or retro or whatever you want to refer to it as? Made in USA quality of course! The original 999 Kennedy was a Made in Asia shoe, which we all know lacks some quality aspects and attractive shape. These 2 key lacks are probably what deterred me away from ever owning a 999 until this project.

In usual Concepts fashion you can expect a custom box with a NB box enclosed + multiple pairs of laces.
