S.F. TASSIE DEVIL: A PROJECT TURNED ICONIC
On 2/16, NB announced an 'Iconic Collaboration' pack that would pay homage to some of the most successful collaboration projects ever to launch: Sneaker Freaker's 998 Tassie Devil, Concepts' 997 Rosé, SNS' 577, and Whiz Limited's 1700. These four colorways were originally incorporated into models other than the 574...this time around though things would change.
Sneaker Freaker's high media exposure and attention makes their releases a little harder to grab than others, especially with the use of bots these days. I unfortunately did not score the original Tassie Devils when they launched, I had to wait a few years later for prices to decrease in which I ended up picking up a DS pair for $200.
Most say to not judge a book by its cover, but in this case...I encourage you to. It looks like SF went the route they did with the Tassie Tiger in relations to the packaging. This may be the best exclusive box I've seen. The construction is solid, highly protected for shipping, and usually contains a surprise...Could you image this style box for the original Taste 998 or even the 'Skippy' 850?! The colors would be bananas!
With the Tassie Tiger's we were gifted with a dust bag + magazine, and with these 574's we received a beverage koozie! I could see this wrapped around a Yerba Mate in the near future.
Ok ok...onto the shoes
Here is the the classic 998 paired up with the newly dropped 574; you be the judge.
