AARON KAI x RLS
Since working with SBTG on my custom 991 earlier this year; I’ve had the bug to work with other artists on NB projects. Though I didn’t work with Aaron Kai himself for this new addition to the ‘Odds n’ Ends section, I thought it’d be necessary to feature his new ‘Wave’ x Rope Lace Supply shoe laces that were gifted to me by his sister.
I’d like to think that Aaron’s inspiration behind the wave is his Hawaiian heritage and roots; the wave design is heavily seen with Nike promotions, has been recently portrayed nationwide on Brisk beverage bottles (pineapple passionfruit) and can be seen on the big wall in Downtown LA at NiceKicks. The bold black outlining mends well with any color he chooses to fade or fill with.
It was extremely hard to find a pair in my collection that would flow well with these bold laces, but I think these custom 998 NB1’s complimented the tones of blue very well.
