NEW BALANCE 997HNN

I'm breaking out an older pair for this addition to the New Balance category of my blog; the Nonnative 'Dune' broke the mold as it made its debut shortly after the new year in 2012. 

Backstory on how I received these: When I purchased my 990HSN and 575GRG from a friend of mine, he threw this pair in as a surprise/gift! Thanks my bro. You know who you are!

Don't be confused by the title, this is in fact a 997.5 that features a 998 midsole and 997 upper. The classic 998 midsole has been used and repurposed a lot as of lately so maybe that was the inspiration behind this shoot. 

This desert-like colorway features a trifecta of materials: suede, mesh, and fine leather. The tones of brown and tan complement the materials well, but Nonnative didn't stop there...They threw in a splash of rich Persian blue to the outsole that was rumored to replicate an oasis within a desert.

The embossed tongue labeling was also a nice touch.
