NEW BALANCE x BODEGA 997JBG: NO BAD DAYS

One thing that the NB community continues to show is its selflessness. You may remember my story of how I secured a pair of the 577HAN for my TeamNB brethren, Floyd…What would be a surprise is how soon good karma would come back around.

When word got out that Bodega was launching a sequel to their ‘No Days Off’ NB 997 project, I knew that it would be nearly impossible to obtain especially with the vast amount rumors on how Bodega ‘backdoors’ their releases. Despite my odds, I put feelers out to my friends to help me acquire a 11 since I missed out on their first collab due to bots. The release would soon come and sadly we would all strike out. To be honest…I wasn’t sweating it too bad, I wanted them but didn’t NEED them ya know? It wasn't until a few days after release where Floyd would hit me up saying that his friend in San Jose, CA (60mi from me) secured a 11 and I could have it for retail if I chose. The deal was set, payment was made, shoes were shipped and a couple days later they arrived!

Ok so let’s break it on down. First thing noticed, if you didn’t know already is that this is a MiChina model; that’s strike 1 in my book, but surprisingly these are some of the better constructed China-made NB’s I’ve seen.

Choices: What I really like about these is the lace options. You get a marine like aqua blue that matches the lining, deep royal purple that’s relatable to the purple found on the ‘No Days Off’ pair, and a charcoal grey that is a perfect match found to the grey leather found on the saddle and toe box.

The mis-match logos is starting to be popular across the board to mostly all brands; my personal fav is the striped version.

And there you have it…the 997S from Bodega
