PAINTING THE PICTURE

When building a vehicle such as this, the vision has to be clear so you know what you are trying to achieve. Rob Evans has worked with us on 2 previous Ford concepts, so when the topic of renderings was brought up I knew I’d have to give Rob a call to see if he’d come out of semi-retirement for another build.

Trent Musser hand drew some concept ideas that would later be transferred into 3D imagery:

Matt wanted a blue on graphite combo so this was Rob’s first stab at the rending:

Rob didn’t disappoint. This was already very close to the final outcome. Next was wheel choice…

We partnered with Signature Wheel and are using their SV602 with ‘Exhibition of Speed’ lock enhancement design, which we were told was the first of its kind. Rob took several live pictures of the wheels and was able to create them in 3D:

Now let’s see them on the truck!

It’s starting to come to light right? Once we had the wheels on, we had to get the color just right. Matt wanted to go with a dark blue and wanted a splash of color to bring out the wheels. We chose to incorporate orange into the lock system.

Darker blue was desired and a satin-like sheen:

Like it so far? We do! We are going darker though!

Rob Evans crushed this, and this is the picture we have painted for the final result! Don’t forget to follow the build on Instagram: @f_one_bad_idea
