CRICK FILIPPI'S CUSTOM HEADER

My 510 project already has a handful of custom-1-off parts, but nothing like this beautiful 304 stainless, tig welded, equal length header built by one of my best friends, Crick Filippi

Not only does it look fantastic, but it will function as it is built to measurements used on CORR Race Trucks, the specifics have stats and data behind them proving their performance.

I didn’t give Crick any input on what I wanted the header to look like because over the years of watching him grow in his craft, I knew his imagination would align with my thoughts. To assist in his vision, Crick used icengineworks header blocks to configure each primary & secondary strategically around the steering shaft + the confines of the small 510 engine bay.

Once the overall design was determined it was time to put these new tools to work. Crick built a clamp so to speak that would crush the round tube into square to match the port shape on the KA24DE cylinder head.

Once the flange and its union sections were built he could begin transferring the shape of the blocks to the 304 stainless tubing:

The last section would be off of the 2.5” merge collector transitioning to 3” for the remainder of the exhaust.

One thing to expect if you ever work with Crick is that he’s is going to deliver art. Thank you Crick for continuing to reciprocate the support and help build any idea I may have and teaching me along the way.
