When Malik drops his EAT x NB projects, they are available through in-store purchase exclusively in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area otherwise known as the DMV; and for the 3rd year in a row they’ve sold out! For this release there were 600 pairs made available for online purchasing, and all 600 pairs sold out within 30 minutes. The online experience buried any other experience I’ve had for an online release in recent times. Both Aimé Leon Dore and Bodega and should take notes on how YCMC executed their online release.
YCMC; the online source for the 990EAT5 had a queue for all entering the site that started at 10am EST. It was simple; you got in line, waited for the bar to load and whatever was available was yours for the taking (up to 10min). This method eliminated the use of bots.
I gave my TeamNB brother Dennis my word that’d I’d help him acquire his needed size 12. It was a quick and smooth transaction. After checking out I thought I should get back in line and try for my own 11, but sadly they were sold out already. This is Dennis’ pair you see featured in this post. He allowed me to shoot some pics before shipping.

Ordered Friday and received Monday FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY! The only other retailer I know who does this is Concepts. This is just another notch on the belt of EAT x YCMC.
Though a lot might like jive with the colors of this project, I look passed it and value every aspect put into this drop. This was the smoothest launch all year by anyone who collaborated with NB and I commend everyones efforts involved with making it happen as it did!
