NEW BALANCE M992GR

Grey, purple, navy and brown; 4 color that NB seems to have a long on when it comes to shades of suede. The classic grey colorway found on multiple 99X family pairs is so good that people will collect this color-absent canvas in all models. Myself on the other hand just needs 1 or 2 grey shoes. I’ve been wearing my 2014 997GY since the drop and they’ve been through hell and back, so when these 992GR’s showed up on my doorstep by surprise, it was perfect timing and welcome!

What can we say about the 992 thus far? It’s been the most talked about NB model all year and has been the silhouette of choice by most collaborators out there. Joe Fresh Goods, JJJJound, Kith, Packer, WTaps, etc. Have all put their touch on these and have driven the NB hype train off the tracks, down the mountain and into the ocean. We aren’t here to talk about collabs though, we are here to focus on this General Released 992 that hasn’t been produced since 2006 when NB celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Comfort is there, but to me the styling isn’t. The orthopedic style midsole is a major turnoff for me and does not compare to the sleek streamlined styling of the 991 nor 993.
