NEW BALANCE 99X COLLECTION '990V2/991 HYBRID'

Where do I begin? I suppose I’ll start with that I think this is the best silhouette New Balance ever developed. Released in the 2006-08 era; this ‘heritage’ collection sat in outlets and was overlooked by the masses. Over the years they have been the fuel to keep my fire going as a collector. I don’t know for sure, but I’m confident there are 10 total colorways in this silhouette and what you see here is all 10!

I wouldn’t have this impressive collection if it wasn’t for Anibal and Kainoa of TeamNB; both are heavy contributors. I’ve been lucky enough to only have 2 pairs crumble, both of which were DS but were in a tropical climate before reaching me. 1 of those are under the knife with Lee aka (antiks153) of TeamNB getting a resole; which will be featured later.

Fun Fact: Only 1 pair of these have the original box hence all of the clear boxes haha.

A part of me would love for NB to retro this silhouette, but another part wants to leave it to history so people can enjoy the hunt as I have. I’m now to the point where I’m doubling or tripling when I find colorways in my size so I can always have a spare haha.
