KANGAROOS x MAX L. x SELECTA B. RUNAWAY 'RAINBOW TROUT'
ROOS United program continues with this introduction to the 'Rainbow Trout' designed by my friend Max Loewe and world renown photographer Selecta Bisso, both of which are huge influences to the streetwear and sneaker communities
Backstory reference from Hummel & Hummel:
“In the French Pyrenees, as well as in large parts of Bavaria, paradisiacal conditions still prevail for the most part for all fishing enthusiasts. In both regions, the rainbow trout is one of the most fished trout species.
The latter is a fish species native to North America that was introduced to Europe in 1879. The special feature of the rainbow trout is its longitudinal stripe, which changes colour depending on the angle of view and the incidence of light and is predominantly pink.
This extraordinary fish serves as the unifying element of this cross-border collab. Selecta Bisso and Max Loewe thus describe the term UNITY in their own way to express their (boundless) passion for sneakers.”

Naturally when you're creating a shoe I'd like to think you'd coordinate colors with what the subject is. Both Max and Selecta went beyond just the color tie-in and brought texture into the mix by throwing in scale-like material to pay reference to the beautiful rainbow colored scaling found on the trout. Hues of green, pink and brown are found throughout the upper and are sure to catch your eyes no matter what lace choice you choose out of the 3 that come with this shoe. Though the lace choices were great; I went with a black pair taken from the Worldbox x Kangaroos collab pair. What do you think?
Sizing:
I stuck with my Ultimate sizing for this pair (45) and am very happy with the fit.
